Amish Country

Mesopotamia and Middlefield are Amish communities.  There are approximately 2,000 Amish in the area.  Horse drawn carriages and foot power are their most common modes of transportation.  Amish build their carriages by hand without any pattern or blueprints.  The only part they do not make are the wheels.

         The General Store built and operated since 1840.  

The store's primary customers are the Amish.

A typical old fashioned general store with bulk foods, grocery items, old scales, old cash registers, bean cabinets, and the original wooden floor was in excellent condition.
